You can't always look after your parent, and I think there comes a time when it's actually preferable for all concerned to have professionals step in. I found it very hard moving my mother into a nursing home after a stroke, but she settled in really well and it was a relief all round from the worry of what might happen next. It's just that first s more…

Prayers ascending for your crown and I hope you have more luck than me. £400 down the drain! 1st abcess a month ago, 2nd one this week and I have made them take it out. Probably should have waited till the abcess had subsided as it was bloody agony. And they couldn't get one of the roots out. Left feeling pretty crap, frankly. Some holiday this is more…

Sally, Your diary reveals a fascinating aspect of life on this planet, a true eye opener on a different culture. But what courtesy and faith these people display often under appalling circumstances.
Your diary is very much required reading and I always regret when circumstances have prevented me from enjoying perusing the latest en more…

Sally, has anyone ever suggested you might - just - be a little crazy? Somehow your dental exploits fill me with horror - and yet you sound so sanguine about it all. Unless I can crawl in to my own dentist when I have problems, I get all pathetic...:-(

Hi Sal
Just to let you know some of us are still reading the blog. It reminds me of my visits to the eye pavilion in 1989. I got the yellow eye treatment and the lubricant drops. Watch out if they offer you cream instead. It's like putting vaseline in your eyes. It cetainly worked but I could scarcely open my eyes and could hardly more…

Sally,
Hope I catch you before you leave.
I have not read your last few days fully since our return from Bruges; but I concur with Maggie's thoughts about the pool of tears.
Love em to bits: and remember you can never have the joy of visiting again unless you leave this time, however hard.
Ultreya!

Dear Sal,
Hope the pool of tears is not causing too much of a flood in Perumalpuram along with the rain! Thinking of you so much ,knowing how hard it must be for you to say goodbye.
